Happy Memorial Day

Today isn’t just about having the day off or backyard barbeques. Today isn’t about sales at the local home improvement store or discounts at the local car dealership. Today is a day to take pause so that we can remember and thank the men and women of the armed forces who have put their lives on the line and made the ultimate sacrifice for this country. This day dates back to the Civil War when the Union wanted to honor its dead soldiers on a day that was originally called Decoration Day and was called Memorial Day in 1882. So while you are enjoying an extra day out of the office, out of town, or even at home spending time with your family, please take a few moments to reflect and thank those who died for their country, who died in order for you to enjoy the freedom and rights that you have as an American.

  1. I did, and will. Thank you for your service!

  2. Thanks. And no problem. I was fortunate to never be in harms way when I served. I am so thankful for those who did put their lives on the line and returned home in pine boxes so that the rest of us could enjoy our freedom.

  3. My son did a great post on our family.
    Besides the old timers,
I have had 2 Grandsons who served and one about to leave.
    Makes me nervous..
