Thank You

My thanks to the 16 members of the Armed Services Committee who voted for the repeal of DADT.  A special thanks for Sen. Collins for going against the current and being the only Republican in the committee to do so.  The House of Reps also voted to repeal this policy and it will now move onto the Senate for vote in the summer.  I had the fortune of visiting Majority Leader Steny Hoyer’s office on the 11th to share my experience of serving under DADT.  When I watched his speech on the House Floor tonight, I was moved to tears.  This is an important day for such an important cause that will result in allowing ALL Americans the right to serve their country.  This will allow thousands of Americans to do what they love no matter who they love.  Please take a few moments to watch Rep. Hoyer’s speech, as might some light as to why I have been focused on this topic on my blog in recent months.  Then, I hope  you will call your senators to voice your support in the repeal of this horrible policy.

  3. I loved this speech so much when I saw it the other day, that I posted it on my Facebook……powerful and passionate, and it brought me to tears also! I hope it reached the ones that needed to hear his message….but that could be a long shot!! Whether or not it moved the unmovable, this is going to happen D!!!!! I’m proud that my congressmen and women are behind the repeal.
