I Support David Letterman

I wouldn’t sleep with him. Then again, I wouldn’t sleep with any man.  There’s been talk about whether his admission to having sexual encounters with his staffers makes him creepy.  Frankly, he has always had a slightly sleazy way about him that’s only dwindled in the past few years since had his son and got married.  I wasn’t surprised at all to hear that he had some taken part in some extra-curricular activity.  I’m not about to condone the behavior.  However, put yourself in his shoes and just consider that between contacting the authorities and not letting a bigger sleaze-ball make off with 2 million, then going on television and confessing your sins to the nation is not a task is not something to be taken lightly.  I’ve known people with much more trivial secrets who would freak out if their skeletons were forced from the closet.  He earned some respect from me last night in the way he has handled this ordeal.

  1. I thought it was pretty big of him to come clean about it. Think about all of the trouble public figures have gotten into for lying about where they put their pricks!

BTW, I wouldn’t sleep with him either ;)

  2. Yep, pretty big and, unlike most politicians, religious leaders, etc…who have been caught putting their pricks in extra places, he doesn’t preach about morality. Ahhh, refreshing.

I also would not sleep with letterman…ewwww!

  3. I thought he handled it well, all things considered. I feel sorry for his staffers, they’ll always be under scrutiny now. The guy that did this: what a sick asshole. I don’t think Letterman did anything wrong. He was with consenting adults, he wasn’t married at the time, and where else is someone famous going to meet anyone but at work?

  4. We (the royal we, not the people who come to your blog) are a nation of assholes & hypocrites.

I like Letterman (not to have sex with! YUCK!). Who he sleeps with is not my business.

I liked Clinton. I would have had sex with him. Who he slept with was NOT my business.

  5. None of this is anybody’s business…..but don’t really see the draw to Letterman myself!!! EWWWWW!!!!!!! Handled it well though………..

  6. I agree with everyone..I like Dave and what he does in his private life is none of my business.
I love the fact that he didn’t pay off a blackmailer and stuck it to him.

.What Clinton did was stupid and he would have been much better off if he had come clean too.
But that was Hillary’s business no one else’s.
Maybe Dave has taught future politicians a lesson.

  7. I agree that David Letterman’s private life and who he sleeps with is none of anyones business, except for his wife.
I think that they need to get it out of the public eye before it has more impact on his career.
I think that the asshole that tried to blackmail him was an idiot for thinking that he wouldn’t do the right thing and come clean like he did, I am pleased to see that one of America’s men could actually do something right for the sake of others…considering that I have seen politicians brought down for trying to cover it up!!
