I used to look through my mom’s vinyls from time to time as a child. They included a lot of folk music such as Gordon Lightfoot, Simon and Garfunkel, and one of my mom’s favorite groups, Peter, Paul and Mary. Due to my mom’s appreciation for them, I was exposed to their music and learned to appreciate their message as I grew into an adult. When I found a tiny article stating that Mary Travers has died from leukemia at the age of 72, I not only knew who she was, but was sad to read the news and had to write about it.
I think this video not only reflects the group in their prime, but sends a powerful message that is quite relevant today.

You know, my mom had one of their albums, but I never listened to it. I had heard the song title, but this was the first time I heard the song. Thanks!
Where is that buried in the news? Sad.
I loved the group..and the messages from their songs.
Today we have Springsteen and he does it well..
I used to sing their songs to my daughter at bedtime when she was little……..
