Over the course of the past week it has been made very clear that we have a long way to go. We might have improved our relations with other countries, by having an articulate, educated, diplomatic individual serving our country as President. However, we are still a bunch of crazy ass hillbillies pointing out them folks who don’t seem to be from around these parts.
First, we’ve got the Gates vs. Crowley deal. Now I’m not going to get into what I think happened, whose right and whose wrong. However, I will get into the part that the topic of prejudice is taking front and center because of it. When I speak of prejudice, I have read and heard about it from both sides of the house. Some of the comments that I have heard from radio shows have even sounded a bit racist towards Anglo-Americans. Racism isn’t a one-way street and if you don’t believe me, then you try being a minority where you live and go to school, then get back to me on that one.
Along with the heated arguments that I’ve heard in regards to Gates vs. Crowley, I’ve also read and watched the news in regards to the bullshit Birther deal. Hawaii became a state on August 21, 1959. President Obama was born in 1961. You do the math. However, if you’d like to get technical, Hawaii was annexed as a U.S. Territory on July 6, 1898. Guess what? If you’re born in a U.S. Territory, YOU’RE AN AMERICAN CITIZEN!!!! Then, I think there’s some argument about how President Obama wasn’t even born in Hawaii and that it was all a scam. I believe there are a few folks who have watched “The Manchurian Candidate” one too many times. I would have said, “read” but let’s face it, these folks aren’t readers. Really though, do the “Birthers” have to be that damn ignorant?
If you have a problem with President Obama’s policy, then feel free to argue the merits of that. If you feel that he is inarticulate, go argue that as well… although you’ll lose. If you think your IQ is higher than his, go after that or if you feel that he lacks common sense, by all means… I used that one quite a bit when Bush was in office. (Then again, my points were valid, but that’s a side thing.)
I just get a bit fed up when people decide to show their asses as much as I have seen and heard over the past few days. Granted, I’m used to people saying ignorant things and attacking different cultural groups here and there, which is not cool, but it seems so fucking concentrated right now that I’m getting a headache from it. Are we really this ignorant? Seriously, something has got to give.

I have been screaming this for YEARS and it just seems to be getting worse. For some reason the crazies are allowed out of their houses (or asylums) more lately than in any other time that I can remember. Between people screaming about where President Obama was born or yelling about what happened in Cambridge (I would not want to provide ID in my own home and how would the cop know it was my house anyway?) or paying attention to what Palin is saying, is anything in this country getting done? Maybe Congress could accomplish something if they weren’t writing legislation requiring the President provide a birth certificate before he runs? Isn’t that in the Constitution?????!!!!?????
This entire country makes me batsh*t insane.
A friend of mine said she thinks people are coming up with this birth certificate bullshit because, basically, they’re racist, but it’s not OK in this day and age to say, “Fuck Obama! He’s black!”
I’m a mixed race person myself, and I have been snubbed and insulted by people who think I’m white and also by people who think I’m Native American (I’m both.) Racism is racism, period, and it’s not OK.
Where is all this crazy coming from, and how do we start educating people again? And I thought my state was full of whack-jobs!
What do you think about this jackass Thaddeus McCotter of Michigan? This dipshit “plans to introduce a House resolution today demanding President Obama apologize for remarks he made last week about Cambridge Police Sgt. James Crowley”. This guy is unbelievable. What an asshole. Our world is basically just getting a little better, and this is what he is wasting our time with?
I heard about Thaddeus this morning. He has confirmed that Congress is high school all over again and Thaddeus is the dork (not smart enough to be a geek or nerd) who tells on everyone for everything. If I didn’t have anything better to do, which even cleaning my belly button counts as being more constructive, I would monitor his every word, and then demand he apologize when he hurts my feelings… providing my feelings could get hurt by the dip-shit in the first place.
We have the whackos coming out because political correctness went out of the window as soon as we got someone you spoke ‘crazy’ running for office…it made it okay for everyone else to speak her language……now it’s okay to be blatantly rascist, a birther, or God knows what else…….
