How can people have such strong views on a subject they have absolutely no personal experience with? I am an American, but have been treated by a doctor in France, first trimester of my pregnancy in Prague and the birth of my baby in Germany. I can tell you this: I received excellent care and received zero out-of-pocket medical bills (other than the $20 I had to cough up for my first ultrasound in Prague). So to the people who think socialized medicine is so evil, go break your leg in Sweeden, catch the swine flu in Spain or undergo cancer treatments in Germany, then report back at how evil your experience was.
