Taking the Higher Ground

Tis the season for graduations and with it comes commencement speeches.  President Obama has now spoken at two of them.  The first was at ASU without much of an issue by the crowds. His second speech was at Notre Dame.  Unless you’ve been living under a rock recently, then you are aware of the great controversy of President Obama speaking there. Apparently there are just a couple hard-core pro-life Catholics left in the world… just a couple and these folks decided to protest President Obama since he is pro-choice. Well, unlike members of past administrations, President Obama has tact and he took the higher ground in his speech to the graduating seniors.

I know he couldn’t say it, but I will… as for the haters… get over yourselves! The holier-than-thou thing isn’t really appealing to most people.

  1. Yeah getting old…I’m getting more and more radical in my old age, when I thought I was getting more moderate! I’m losing patience with the trying to involve the other side of the aisle and getting kicked in the teeth…they aren’t going to change their minds so lets just go for what we voted for! I wish the president would get on board…the pandering is starting to get to me…I understand it, but it’s not working!

  2. I was so glad to see that he got to do the speech there. And he is the only prez I can remember who has taken the higher ground.

  3. Isn’t it nice that it is now our ordinary citizens who embarrass us and NOT our President?

  4. I agree with left leaning lady!
I love how everyone turns out to protest abortion, but no one is hanging around prisons trying to overturn the death penalty! I guess not all life is cute.
