If you’ll recall, about eight years ago, a federal intern by the name of Chandra Levy was reported missing in Rock Creek Park, which spans through a good portion of Washington, D.C. One morning she went out for a jog, and a few weeks later, all eyes were on Former Rep. Gary Condit. During the investigation of Ms. Levy’s disappearance it was found that Gary Condit, like many other politicians before him, had a thing for interns… his rendezvous thing he had going on with Chandra Levy probably would not had surfaced had it not been for those darn kids… sorry, I had a Scooby Doo moment… as I was… he probably would still be in office had Ms. Levy not disappeared. However he was at least taken off of a list of suspects in her murder. Although, the link to the case killed his chances for keeping his spot in Congress in the ’02 election.
A year passed without a body, until one day a guy, walking in the woods of Rock Creek Park found skeletal remains that, after testing, were found to be those of Chandra Levy. Unfortunately, there wasn’t enough evidence to tie anyone to the murder, and the case went cold.
Jump about seven years to today when a warrant went out to Ingmar Guandique for first-degree murder. Apparently he had been questioned years ago but the crime couldn’t be pinned to him.
I’m glad that the Levy family finally has some form of closure. It’s just a shame that it took nearly eight years from the day they realized she was missing for it to happen. No family should have to go through that.

I don’t know about that last question, but I did think it was odd that Condit’s mother made a statement. You would think he would come out and say, “I’m glad the family has closure, blah blah blah”. Even though he isn’t a killer, I still think he is a creep. The news said he tried to open two ice-cream stores in Arizona, but they both failed.
I also meant to say, it pisses me off that a girl can’t go for a run in a public park safely. It is really sad. If these crimes happened to men as often as women and children, you can bet a whole hell of a lot more would be done about these predators.
I don’t know if that or the fact that he had an affair with an intern killed his career. He was a real slimeball anyway.

I would suggest he stay away from businesses that put him in close proximity to young people.
Especially young interns!!
I agree with Kitty, Gary Condit was a sleaze ball, but he didn’t deserve to be convicted in the media for murder
I would love it if all these so called experts like Nancy Grace etc. who had him convicted would have to pay a fine of some sort.
Maybe to a fund for missing children.
