The Puppet Master
Well, the Puppet Master is acting above the law… again. At the end of Bush’s presidency, both his and the Puppet Master’s records are to be turned over to the National Archives, thanks to the Presidential Records Act. Apparently, this is one of those crazy Constitutional things that the Puppet Master is ignoring, as he believes he has the right to decide what records can go to the National Archives and what records won’t. It’s gotten to the point that he’s getting sued by the Citizens of Responsibility and Ethics. Ethics… I don’t believe that’s a word that can be found in Mr. Puppet Master’s vocabulary.
Now, I make no secret that I cannot stand this man. I truly believe that his interests have been for himself since the day he applied and received his first of six draft deferments from the Vietnam War. Oh, and he was a supporter of the War. He just felt that he could do more by not being in the military, which is such bullshit. Although he left Halliburton when he took the office of VP, the company remained very close to his heart, as we all saw when they received a huge contract without competition.
Oh, and let us not forget the CIA leak scandal. If you don’t believe he had anything to do with leaking Valerie Plame’s name, I have a bridge to sell you.
To top it all off, he has defended the practice of waterboarding as an interrogation technique. I guess it’s not hard for someone to be for an act of torture, which I believe goes against the Geneva Convention, when that person, nor their immediate family has not served in the military.
I, as a veteran, and as a person with very strong sense of right and wrong, can tell you that the practice of waterboarding goes against what this nation is about. I’m against terrorism, just like the next guy. I also love my country. If I didn’t, I would not have served in the military. However, there is a way to go about things in a sensible and more humane manner. Waterboarding isn’t one of them.
So, I hope that all information will end up in the hands of the National Archives. I believe the Puppet Master’s ride is about to end and I hope he gets what he deserves as he is one of the reasons why the United States is tainted in the eyes of the world.

Very well said. It is always a thrill for me to hear about other veterans (5 1/5 years USAF here) who didn’t buy into the entire republican BS during boot camp and managed to leave the military AND still be able to use their brain.
I certainly hope that Dick does get his. Every little thing that he deserves for being a large part of the reason this country is where it is. But I don’t see it happening in this lifetime and I don’t believe in Hell.
I hear ya. Especially about the waterboarding. Torture is torture.
The only thing I can say is…did you expect anything else from Dick Cheney???
Another new one. On Amazon. Vietnam War. Grueling and too real. Exciting and written well. Lots of stuff hard to take because I don’t wanna be there. It’s written by Ron Lealos and titled Don’t Mean Nuthin’.
Just like he said in an interview, “So?” He doesn’t give a shit what anyone thinks, even when we KNOW what he’s doing…this has been the guy pulling the strings all along, and that is his attitude toward the law…he feels above it, no doubt about that………
I believe in karma, but why the hell isn’t he in jail?! You look at the Nixon bunch and it just seems to pale in comparison.
Cheney has indeed been pulling Bush’s strings for all these years. Even better, he has probably had his hand up Bush’s ass like Bush was his sock puppet. This man should be tried for high treason and hung from the highest gallows. Evil incarnate. The picture you posted does not even show him to be the slug that he really is.
He is an amoral, nasty piece of work. I really can’t believe his mechanical heart has held out this long. I don’t understand how these people sleep at night…
That picture is just plain scary. And I agree with willpen, Cheney is the power behind the throne. Bush just isn’t smart enough for some of the things this administration has pulled.
I’m not one who believes in a place called hell with fire and brimstone either. However, I have heard that some prisons are very much like hell on earth…. just saying.
I personally believe this administration is prime for being indicted for many things, not the least of which is war crimes. We’ll see if it will ever happen…….why does someone this evil get to live, not to mention dodging multiple bullets, when there are so many wonderful people out there fighting for their lives, or have lost their battle?
Chris- As the cliche goes, only the good die young. That’s why I make it a point to be a bitch at least once a day.
hey, if bitchiness comes with age…maybe that’s why I’m still alive!
