I know it sounds unbelievable, but there have been a couple times in my life when I have been around other people who did not want me near them. Mainly, this was in elementary school, as I was that student in the minority for two things: I lived with my actual parents (they divorced later on), and I was of a different race than most of my classmates, as I attended a more urban elementary school. Oh, and I was the one with the bad haircut, big glasses, and horrible fashion sense. My childhood photos make for a good standup material. In fact, some day I might just use them for that very purpose. I didn’t have a problem with most of my classmates. However, they did with me.
I remember spent many recesses trying to climb some tree, or talking with some teacher instead of playing on the playground, as that’s where my classmates were, and I was not welcome. There’s nothing worse than being somewhere with a bunch of people who don’t want you around them. So, anytime I have ever felt that way, I would leave. I know when I’m not welcome.
Apparently Gov. Blagojevich does not have the sense to know when he’s not welcome. Or perhaps he does. However, instead of leaving his post as Governor, he seems to be be fighting until the bitter end. Perhaps he’s waiting until the fat lady sings.
Is he gone yet? Damn, I was hoping that would work.
Well, the Illinois Attorney General put in a request with the State Supreme Court to remove him on Friday. Word should come back in the next few days as to whether the Illinois Supreme Court will field Attorney General Madigan’s request.
Do you think Gov. Blagojevich (man am I glad I only have to type his name and not verbalize it) stepped down after that? Nope.
As if having the Attorney General file a formal request wasn’t enough, the Illinois House Speaker, Michael Madigan, who happens to be the Attorney General’s father, (delicious, isn’t it?) made an announcement yesterday that he is going to create a committee to look into the actions of Gov. Blagojevich to see if it’s possible to impeach the bastard.
Illinois politics are some of the seediest in the country. Perhaps with the exposure of the corruption that takes place behind the scenes, thanks to some of Gov. Blagojevich’s tapped phone calls that have been made public, the voters of the state will take a stand against dirty politics. Granted, honesty and politics don’t necessarily go hand in hand. However, getting closer to running clean campaigns and a more honorable government sounds like a good idea to many right about now.

Unbelievable, isn’t it? Have you figured out if Blagojevich’s hair is real? Somehow I think it’s a really horrific rug.
Sick of the entire mess. If I had screwed up like that, I would have been fired immediately. Why do politicians get to keep their jobs after breaking the law?
I believe in innocent until found guilty, but I HEARD him on the radio. He did it. He needs to go home now.
I think, because he needs money, he’s waiting for a deal…or maybe if he gets fired instead of quits he can get unemployment!!
The man is a certifiable lunatic. He will milk this for everything he can.
His name is easy to pronounce:
Bag-oy-eh-shit
BTW…sorry you went through such a horrible time in school…that must have been really awful for a kid…thankfully you came through it and ended up with a good sense of humor, a sense of commitment to community and country and a fair view of an ethnic group! I commend you for that!!!!!!
Seriously, wtf with this guy?! Don’t let the door hit you in the ass! BTW, I’m putting up a link to your blog…unless you’re embarrassed to be linked to a blog that says “fuck” so much
Mari- would anyone pay for a rug like that?
LLL-That’s why I refuse to become a politician. I’m not one for breaking laws. Besides, I have more fun analyzing them instead.
willpen- scary, isn’t it? I wonder how many voters are kicking themselves in the ass right about now.
skyewriter- “bag-oy-eh-shit” I think I got it. Thanks for the help in pronunciation! I might come to you in the future for other names.
chris- Thanks for your kind words. I hope no one took at as me trying to get any sympathy, as that’s not why I wrote about it. Granted, I have plenty of stories, not meant for this blog, but I wouldn’t change it. I am who I am due in part to my childhood, and I am far from boring!!
Riot Kitty- I’m glad to be link worthy. I added your link as well.
