I can’t say that I’m surprised, but I am highly irritated that the lame duck is spending his last days in office much in the same manner that he had with the rest of his eight years, fucking things up. On Thursday, President Bush “issued revised endangered species regulations Thursday to reduce the input of federal scientists and to block the law from being used to fight global warming.” You can read all about it here.
Translation: He just gave the animals of this nation the middle finger. Yep, now mandatory checks to ensure that endangered species are not harmed when humans go out to rip up more of what’s left in nature are gone.
Now, whatever happened to lame ducks doing their time, counting down the days by issuing pardons to their friends and business associates? I’m really starting to get the feeling that President Bush is trying to make sure that he is written down as the worst President in the history of the United States. If that’s the case, then please rest assured, Mr. Bush, you have that title secured.
