Gov. Blagojevich of Illinois was the latest politician to get arrested for political corruption yesterday. According to authorities, his practices have been under investigation for three years. After Obama was proclaimed winner, Gov. Blagojevich started looking at how he could make a bit of money off of his selection for President Elect Obama’s Senate seat. Apparently, that’s when the shit started to hit the fan. His lawyer did say that Gov. Blagojevich does not plan on resigning. Why should he, when many politicians before him who have been charged and have been found guilty of corruption, battled to keep their respective positions?
Hell, look at Larry Craig. He got caught tap-dancing in a restroom stall, made a guilty plea, then wanted to withdrawal his plea, (which was turned down by the Minnesota Court of Appeals yesterday.) He didn’t step down from his position. He will continue to be a Senator until January, as he did not seek re-election. That’s more than Ted Stevens, the Senator from Alaska who was found guilty of corruption, and still ran for re-election, where he barely lost.
I know that politicians aren’t seen as being squeaky clean. There is a bit of wheeling and dealing that happens, not just in federal government, but local as well. However, there are people, such as Barack Obama, who seem to be pretty much scandal free in comparison to individuals such as Blagojevich, who has used his position to make as much money as he possibly could.
Many of us, I believe, are fed up with the old ways that seem to be ingrained in our political climate. That’s why many of us selected Barack Obama to lead this nation for the next four years. He shared some of our sentiments on the campaign trail. He marketed himself as a change from the ordinary, crap that we’ve seen for eight years. We won’t be sure just how much of a change from the same old ways Barack Obama will truly be until he takes office. However, one thing is for sure: We will make him accountable. Granted, there are many promises he made on the campaign trail that are going to be very hard for him to keep. That comes with the territory. However, if he were to pull even half of the shit that Gov. Blagojevich tried to get away with, I don’t think Americans are going to stand for it.
As for Gov. Blagojevich, and the others who are just like him, Resign already!!! If you want to make money and get ahead, do it on your own damn time and by legal means.

I’m a little embarassed, but when I first saw Blagojevich’s picture on t.v. yesterday with his name underneath, I thought another Bosnian/Serbian war criminal had been arrested…
…and I did not hear that our neighbor to the north Larry “I am not gay I have never been gay” Craig’s appeal was turned down. Yea! Hope he had the good sense to stay home from work today as it is “A Day Without a Gay”!

When I first saw Blagojevich on tv, I thought he was some relative of Donald Trump with that hairdo. What cracked me up was that he had the audacity to go to work today as if his arrest yesterday didn’t happen. Seriously fucked up.
Don’t forget, everyone in the Nixon administration, Randy Duke Cunningham and Tom Delay, Dick Chenet and all of his friends profiting on the War.
Crooks all over the place.
I think Fitzgerald went a little overboard saying this was the worse case of corruption he has ever seen.
He must be leading a very sheltered life..
Thank you. I was trying to come up with the name of Randy Duke Cunningham when I wrote out this posting and couldn’t come up with it. That has been nagging at me all day!!!
