With President Elect Obama’s nomination of Bill Richardson for the Commerce Secretary position, I’m noticing a certain pattern. It started when Mr. Obama selected Joe Biden for the VP position. Joe Biden, as you know, ran against him in the primaries. Mr. Obama then, finally, announced Hillary Clinton for the role of Secretary of State. Unless you were living under a rock, you are aware that Hillary, like Joe Biden, also ran against Mr. Obama. So then, with the announcement of Bill Richardson being nominated for a position in Mr. Obama’s cabinet, I came to a conclusion: I should have run as a Democrat against Barack Obama in the primaries. Thusly, my chances for serving in the Obama administration would be just a bit higher than they are now. (After all, you won’t find Sen. Dodd or Rep. Kucinich working for the Administration.)
Granted, I am not a registered Democrat. However, that could easily be changed. Still, I’m afraid there is one little detail that I cannot get past, which is the age requirement. In order to run for President, one must be at least thirty-five years old, which I’m not. Nor will I in four years, as I am only in my late twenties. (No Child Left Behind Act came along a few years after I graduated from high school, so yes, I can do simple math.) So, I guess this means that I’ll have to wait a few months to find out that the Obama Administration has no use for me. Don’t you worry, as I will keep trying!
Oh, and as a side note, how great is it to flip through the news and not have to worry about running into Anne Coulter going through one of her bigoted, ignorant rants while attempting to be humorous? I have read that her jaw will be unwired just in time to tape her audio book… damn it.

Her brain has been wired shut for decades. I think we should leave her jaw wired until her brain starts working, ahhhh, peace and quiet.
Look on the bright side, maybe you can run in 8 years and win the whole kit and kaboodle. Unless, of course, you are actually sane, because I think only a slightly insane person would want the job.
LLL- Yep, I would qualify in two elections. However, I don’t want the job as President. I just want to work in the administration. Knowing my luck, it’ll be some creep who will win it in eight. (I refuse to say her name.)
