Limit Two Per Household… Um, Yeah…

Have you folks seen the Obama plate commercial?  If you haven’t, boy are you in for a treat.  It’s like watching an SNL commercial, but it’s actually for real!! I’m about to make references, so here’s the video:

“His confident smile and kind eyes are an inspiration to us all.”

Folks, I don’t know about you, but I cannot find anything more inspirational than confident smiles and kind eyes.

How about the actors who spoke in the commercial? How did they say their lines with straight faces. As for the “parents” in the family scene,  I hope they ordered their two plates to hand down to their children.  After all, there would be nothing worse than figuring out which child receives the plate in the will.  Man, think of the battles over a plate!!!  Granted, Obama’s “confident smile and kind eyes” on the plate are oh so inspirational. However, even his kind eyes would be unable to deter the battle of two heirs.

I don’t know about you, but I’m going to phone in my order now!!! I simply cannot wait to sit at my table and feel the inspiration pouring out from the plate. What did it for me was the free presidential coin that I only have to pay shipping and handling for.  All I’ve gotta say is Merry Christmas to me!!!

  1. I haven’t seen the commercial, but I am pretty sure I will be passing on this one. Of course, it is tempting to buy them for everyone I know who didn’t vote for Obama, but I can’t afford that.

Very nice post, love the sarcasm. :-)

  2. Let the capitalism–I mean capitalizing–begin!

  3. Wow, you’re going to own a piece of history! Wait, own…piece…..yes you can own a piece… is that a slave reference? Sneaky bastards….

  4. I saw the coin and plate ads…couldn’t believe it! I loved the capitalism comment!

  5. I’ve seen these, too. The first thing I thought of was my Dad. He used to buy all those “Franklin Mint” collectible coins. Not sure if he would’ve jumped at this one. And I’m a bit of a purist when it comes to coins. They’re essentially defacing these coins to add Obama to one side. Why not commission a entirely new commemorative coin instead this nonsense? Grr. It’s like colorizing movies. Have you seen how awful “It’s A Wonderful Life” looks all colorized? Blasphemy.

  6. LLL- I am very sarcastic by nature, which is hard to pull off on the net, since it lacks tones. So, on the rare occasions when I can use it and not have it mistaken, I do. Thanks!

Mari- Good point! I shall call up the plate people and bring that up!!

TBT- When it comes the the plates, I can’t say that I’m hoping that my parents take up collecting them. Seriously, I’d take the used litter box from my mom’s place before I’d go for the plates. The litter box is useful. The decorative plates- not so much.

  7. I don’t know about anyone else, but it’s kind of creepy isn’t it? Who would want to eat off a plate that is looking up at you?
