Unless you were hiding under a rock, you are fully aware of the after Thanksgiving Ritual of “Black Friday.” Personally, I stay away from the stores to let other folks battle it out over material items. What I find to be greatly disturbing are the acts of total disrespect for fellow man all in the name of obtaining some material object that will be discarded in a few years. So, when I read articles like the one below, I am reminded of just how sick some people truly are. I know it’s a farce, but is it really that hard to be calm and orderly when shopping? I mean, for fuck’s sake people, the stores will restock, Amazon.com sells practically anything you would want, and chances are, that toy that you fought to obtain in order to keep your kid happy this year, will be yesterday’s news within a couple years anyway!

Between this, the horrible events in Mumbai, the violence in Congo, and the pirates taking hostage of tankers, I do feel like I have great arguing points with those who believe that humans are the superior species.

Hey, I like to shop just like the next girl, although not on this particular day, but what could possibly be so important at Walmart to cause this kind of scene??????? I just don’t get it! I do have my issues with my species from time to time……..maybe more this week than normal!
This sickens me. I have always disliked Black Friday, it is the perfect symbol of why our country is in this economic mess…
I think that every person who walked through the doors of that Wal-Mart that morning should be charged with involuntary manslaughter, or assault, or at least lack of human decency. What kind of person can walk over or around another person who has been knocked to the ground and must be visibly distressed without stopping to help? What kind of person can do that?
Cavewoman- about a year and a half ago, there was a body that had been dropped off on a busy interstate in Maryland, right before morning rush hour. Cars drove over the body to the point that parts were all over the road. It was to the point that drivers, who after finding out that it was a human, had said that they thought they were driving over bits left of a deer or some sort of roadkill. I believe the police had very little to work with in order to find out who the victim was. However, to think that in the beginning of rush hour, there were vehicles that had driven over an intact body and kept on rolling. Very disturbing.
