PBS’s Political Parody Man

I can recall around election time of the 80′s my family would crowd around the television to tune into Mark Russell’s PBS Specials. The last time I can recall seeing him on television was in ’96.  A couple of months ago, I was tried come up his name.  I would describe his act to others who would end up being as stumped as I was for his name.  Eventually I contacted my mom and she popped up with his name in two seconds.  The woman has the memory of an elephant… which made my attempts at getting away with things a bit difficult as a child.

Anyway, this year, I didn’t see any signs of Mark Russell on television during this election.  Of all the elections, this one had some pretty damn good material for him to parody.  In my search, I did find that he performs on most Mondays at a hotel in D.C. You can click here if you have any interest. I haven’t made it down there to see him as of yet. However, I hope to make the time to do so within the next few months.

If you’re not quite sure as to who Mark Russell is, or want a visit down memory lane, I’m including a video that was part of his ’96 special where he sang about Hillary Clinton and talked about Bob Dole.  Enjoy!
