I’m not talking about Bob Dole either. Ted Haggard has come out of hiding. He also found a profession that fits him a bit more: Insurance Salesman.
According to an AP article posted on Yahoo, “The former superstar pastor, disgraced two years ago in a sex-and-drugs scandal, had returned — this time as a Christian businessman preaching a message that was equal parts contrition and defiance. Haggard linked his fall to being molested in second grade and apologized again.”
Yep, he’s back. It’s unsure as to what his true motivations are. However, the church that he once led, isn’t too keen on his return. Hey, that’s one thing that the New Life Church and I actually agree on!! (I’m a pro-choice, environmentally friendly, and pro-gay marriage type of person… there’s not much there to agree on.) So, with any luck, Mr. Haggard’s return to the public life will be very, very short.
Our country has already dealt with the latest edition of ignorance in action. In fact, many of us were proven wrong about how dumb the woman was when the after-pardon video of her at a turkey farm hit the news programs and the internet this past week. Seriously, we need no more idiots right now. It’s too much for the comedians of the world.
For those of you who have purchased insurance from Mr. Haggard, I don’t even want to know what “bonuses” he threw in to sweeten the deal.

Man, the Christian Church as an establishment is really getting a image beating the past few months. What with the Obama-is-a-Muslim crap some still spew from the pulpit and the whole Prop 8 things, the LAST thing they want now is this guy to show back up.
Sadly, idiots will always be around. This is America! Idiots surround us. I’m reminded of this every time I drive anywhere in LA and especially when I try to park.
You make a good point. The Christian Church is taking a beating and not all sects of Christianity are horrible. However, the horrible ones have been making real asses of themselves lately. They really should look into hiring an image consultant.
You’re right. Christian people, as a whole, I believe are well-intentioned and good. Some, on the other hand, use their Christianity as an excuse for hatred and intolerance, and we all know how anti-Christian that really is.
I can see the new Christian church ad campaign now. “Jesus loved everyone, and so do we. Really. We mean it this time.”
That makes for not just a great tag line, but a great bumper sticker as well!!
Why do we even give these people credibility by putting them front and center in the news? Same goes for Ms. Palin…….thank God they are making asses of themselves though and even the idiots are rejecting them……if the church knows what’s good for them, they’ll do the same…..
I REALLY like your “saying” Katy!
