Kind Gesture In a Troubled Economy

fruits-and-vegetables

As I have mentioned before in prior postings, times are tough and groceries are expensive. That’s why I was happy to read this article about a couple who opened up their farm in Colorado to the public to pick as many vegetables as they could for free.  Over 40,000 people showed up.

Apparently the couple opened their farm up after hearing that people where taking food from churches.  Okay, I thought someone swiping my card, a couple weeks ago was pretty bad. Stealing from churches?  Dude, now that’s horrible.  I mean, go for the dumpsters behind grocery stores if you need food that badly.

To read about this great act of kindness by a farm couple was a nice change.  Especially when the news is filled with stories that could make the bubbliest person end up turning into a cynic. So, feel free to check out the story that I have linked above.  Stories like this give reason to believe that there might just be hope for humanity after all.

  1. I loved this! Every time I lose faith in my species, someone shakes me up!

  2. Great story. This does give me hope for mankind. If I hear one more Republican preaching about individual responsibility, I’m gonna scream. Times are tough so it’s nice to see a few people opening up to help those in need. –Jim

  3. Thanks for your kind words! Also, thanks for visiting, Jim. I hope that you’ll stop by and comment in the future.

I figured with with Thanksgiving around the corner, the least I could do was come up with some uplifting story. Don’t expect it to become a regular thing… but I’ve gotta do my part to keep you on your toes!!
